Fit Pueri Expo opened today in São Paulo, bringing together the largest children’s and baby universe trade fair in Latin America focused on childrenswear and childcare products. At the event, more than 300 exhibiting brands are presenting innovations and launches that are shaping the sector. Across the aisles, furniture, car seats, toys, clothing and accessories share the spotlight.
It is a valuable opportunity for people such as Mariana Vilela, owner of Iupi, a store specialised in complete baby layette products based in Maceió, Alagoas. Having already visited previous editions, when Fit 0/16 and Pueri Expo were still held separately, she came to São Paulo especially for the event. “We are looking for new partners and I am optimistic that we will find them. It will be worth the trip.”
The optimism is similar among exhibitors, especially those presenting tricycles. According to them, families’ growing concern about encouraging children to spend more time outside the home, and consequently away from screens, has contributed to an increase in sales.
Singular Baby alone sells around 380 units per month of the multifunctional 5 in 1 E-Lite Trike model, which follows the child’s development through different stages and can also be used as a bicycle.
New Speed is also investing in the product, but in an electric version. With representatives in São Paulo, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Maranhão, the Chinese manufacturer expects to find distributors from other Brazilian states at Fit Pueri Expo. “Brazil is not yet our largest buyer, but we hope it will be in the future,” said Sales Manager Lin Hai. According to him, tricycles represent 60% of the monthly shipments sent to the country, a figure that demonstrates national interest.
This may have been what motivated another Chinese brand to launch its own tricycle in Brazil. Win Child is presenting its multifunctional 7 in 1 model at the event, which can also be transformed into a bicycle, with high expectations for the Brazilian market.
Another focus for exhibitors this year is the FIFA World Cup. With an eye on football’s biggest tournament, the industry has invested in plush toys, clothing and dolls inspired by the competition. Educational toys and functional furniture are among the other items standing out at the fair.
Fit Pueri Expo runs until Tuesday at Expo Center Norte, also featuring new services and strategic content for entrepreneurs.
